European Blackjack

Available on all devices

Like in any other Blackjack game, in European Blackjack the goal is to get 21 points or close as possible to that number, without being busted.

In European Blackjack all the players get 2 cards. The players' cards are face up, and the dealer has one face up card and one that is still uncovered. There is a "no peek" rule, so he cannot check the second card.

The players can tell if there is a possibility that the dealer has a blackjack, because the face up card would have to be an Ace or ten in this case.

The cards values

The face cards and the tens cost some points, all numbered cards have the value printed on them - 2-9, and an Ace can be worth 1 or eleven. In European Blackjack "hard total" means the total number of points with an Ace counted as 1, while "soft total" is used when an Ace is counted as 11.

Additional options

The players have the option of Surrender, if they didn't get blackjack - in this case they lose ½ of their bet.

If the face up card of the dealer is an ace, the players without blackjack have the opportunity for paying the Insurance. It is actually betting that the dealer has blackjack. They have to pay ½ of their original bet, and in case the dealer has blackjack, they will lose an initial bet, but receive 2:1 payout on the insurance. In case the dealer doesn't have blackjack, the money is lost.

After paying the insurance, the player still plays.

If the face up card is an Ace, the dealer will offer even Money - that means the player will receive 1:1 payout, whether the dealer has the blackjack or not. In addition, if the player has a blackjack, he will not receive 3:2 payouts.

Double Down

If you don't have a blackjack, you can hit - take another card, or stand - do not take additional cards.

In case you would like to hit, you can hit until you get enough, or get busted.

Nevertheless, you also have Double Down option - you can bet you will win with the next received card.

According to the rules, you can Double Down if your hard total is 9, 10 or 11, on your original hands or split ones.

Splitting

The player can split his hand once if he has two cards of same values, with the exceptions of 4s, 5s and 10-valued cards.

You can Double Down any split hand if you have a hard total 9-11.

If you split Aces, you can get only one additional card on each hand.

Payouts

The dealer has to hit on les than 17, and has to stand on 17, hard or soft. Like in regular Blackjack, if the dealer is busted, the players that aren't, win. If they bust too, the dealer wins. In case of a push (tie) with the dealer, you will get your initial bet back.

Payout for Blackjack is 3:2, and for other winning hands 1:1. Insurance payout is 2:1, and even money payout is 1:1-.
